East Maui is the Road to Hāna - 64 miles of switchbacks, waterfalls, and one-lane bridges that thin the traffic and reward patience. Beyond Hāna town the road continues to Kīpahulu, where Charles Lindbergh is buried on a cliff above the Pacific. This is the most remote, most lush, and least developed part of Maui.
Properties here are few, infrequent, and unlike anything elsewhere on the island - agricultural land, off-grid parcels, historic homesteads. East Maui attracts a specific kind of buyer: someone who has already found Maui and wants to go further in. The market is thin, the transactions are complex, and local knowledge is not optional.
